A phoropter is an optical device used to measure refractive errors and determine lens prescription most appropriate for eye care patients. It is also known as a refractor. It contains sets of lenses with different powers. It also contains prisms, red lens, Maddox rods and other tools. It makes subjective refraction and binocular tests easy and seamless.
