Giant cell conjunctivitis is a type of allergic conjunctivitis mostly seen in people that wear contact lenses. It occurs due to allergic reactions to either the contact lens solution or debris trapped between the contact lens and the eye. It affects the conjunctiva that lines the inner surface of the upper lid. Its marked features are the large bumps under the upper eyelid.
