Floppy Eyelid Syndrome

Floppy eyelid syndrome is an eyelid disorder characterized by loose upper eyelids that easily turn inside out, especially during sleep. It occurs due to the loss of elasticity of the lids.  The condition is more common in older people who are obese and have loose skin around the eyes. It can cause red and dry eyes.

Care for floppy eyelid syndrome includes supportive measures like lubricating the eyes with eye drops and taping of the eyelid at night as well as surgery to repair the eyelid.
